These adjectives perfectly describe the profile of the designers and brands participating in the upcoming edition of the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week(MCFW©), May 16-20, 2018.

 

Described by Suzy Menkesas India's national treasure, Rahul Mishra will showcase his SS2019 capsule collection at the MCFW©. Following his debut at Lakme Fashion Week, Mishrabe came the first non-European designer to win a scholarship at Istituto Marangoni in Milan, Italy. He was awarded the MTV Youth Iconin India, and won the International Woolmark Prize in 2014 at Milan Fashion Week, becoming the first Indian designer to be recognised with this award, previously bestowed to fashion icons such as Karl Lagerfeld, Giorgio Armani and Yves Saint Laurent.

 

 

The talented Mishrabe came known for incorporating traditional Indian textiles, and hand made artisan ship to hisde signs, and has showcased his work at fashion weeks in London, Dubai, Australia, and is a regular in the official calendar of Paris Fashion Week. Rahul Mishra believes, "Sustainability isn't just a desire, it's a necessity."

Rahul Mishraisalso the brand ambassador of Is tituto Marangoni Paris, thus he is involved in the life of the school by participating to the Is tituto Marangoni Advisory Committee, taking part to some industry projects, doing lectures about sustainability and giving advices to the students.

 

 

The innovative creations of talented emerging designers participating in MCFW© come from all over the world and are from different ethnic backgrounds, generating a lively multicultural exchange.The mix of styles, cultures and visions results in a successful combination of fashion, art and design. Amal Azhari will display her creativity from Lebanon, with her modern yet romantic caftans and bags with soft edges. Thelma Espina from Guatemala will share her Mayan futurist vision. Many other designers representing countries around the planet will join them Sustainable fashion will be present on the MCFW© runaway. Sara Cavazza Facchini, Creative Director of the Italian prêt-à-porter fashion house Genny since 2013 will be presenting their sustainable collection on MCFW catwalk, she will give a presentation on responsible luxury, explaining how she skilfully blended the fashion house heritage with a sense of timeless elegance, with the added factor of conscientious sustainability, embracing social responsibility.

 

 

From Wednesday, May 16 through Sunday, May 20, 2018, the MCFW©, organized since 2013 by the Chambre Monégasque de la Mode (CMM), with the continuous support of the Government, the City Hall and the Tourism Office of the Principality of Monaco will provide a rich calendar of runways and presentations of capsule, resort, cruise and pre-collections prêt-à-porter Spring/Summer 2019.The 6th edition will be inaugurated on Saturday, May 16, at the MCFW© Fashion Awards Ceremony & Gala Dinner at the prestigious Yacht Club of Monaco.

 

 

 

Firmly believing in social responsibility, the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week will support the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation (www.fondationprincessecharlene.mc), for the second year in a row. Launched back in December 2012 by H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco, the Foundation's primary objective is to save lives by putting an end to drowning. Its mission is to raise public awareness about the dangers of water, teach children to swim while learning safety measures through the "Learn to Swim" and "Water Safety" programs. The Foundation is equally involved in communicating the values of sport such as discipline, respect for oneself and for others, determination and teamwork. The "Sport & Education" program is based on the belief that sport is a tool that contributes to the wellbeing and development of children.
