Swiss luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen celebrated its 150th anniversary at an intimate dinner held at the iconic Burj Khalifa in Dubai and hosted by Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, in the presence of legendary watchmaker, inventor of the perpetual calendar and integral part of IWC's 150-year history, Kurt Klaus. The star-studded evening was also attended by IWC brand ambassadors Sonam Kapoor and Raya Abirached, along with se-lected guests, who celebrated this momentous occasion and got to take a look at the specially created "150 Years" Jubilee collection.
Marking a milestone in the brand's history, IWC celebrat-ed 150 years of excellence at the Burj Khalifa, a Dubai landmark which, in its pioneering spirit, mirrors the vision of IWC's founder, Florentine Ariosto Jones, the man who industrialized the watchmaking industry. The evening started with a cocktail followed by an intimate dinner with live jazz music, where guests were given a first look at the exclusive Jubilee timepieces. The collection is comprised of 29 limited-edition watches from the Portugieser, Por-tofino, Pilot's Watch and Da Vinci families, as well as the Tribute to Pallweber timepieces.
Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, said: "We are incredibly proud to celebrate 150 years of IWC here in Dubai. This city uniquely symbolizes the fu-sion of heritage and the future, and we are responding to that by introducing both our legendary master watchmak-er Kurt Klaus, and our new celebratory Jubilee collection to our clients in the UAE."
Sonam Kapoor said: "It is my pleasure to be part of the IWC 150 years celebration in Dubai; the brand and city are both perfect examples of how to put yourself on the map and revolutionize culture. IWC is a brand very close to my heart, with its game-changing history and pioneer-ing craftsmanship that is evident in the limited-edition timepieces created for the Jubilee collection."
Raya Abirached said: "I am so honoured to have been able to witness this key milestone in IWC's history in the presence of legendary watchmaker Kurt Klaus. IWC is the perfect example of a brand that changed the face of watchmaking without compromising on craftsmanship and authenticity. The evening was a true commemoration of how far IWC has come in 150 years."
